Engineers Week is a seven day programme of nationwide events with the aim of celebrating the world of engineering in Ireland.
The week aims to create a positive awareness and spark enthusiasm about the engineering profession to people of all ages, especially students and their teachers and parents.
Engineers Week is entering its ninth successive year. Engineers Week 2014 was the biggest and best Engineers Week yet, with 500 events across the country and a massive 36,000 participants.
The week is coordinated on a national basis by the STEPS team at Engineers Ireland.
During the week of Februay 8th – 14th, 6th class students from Shannon schools will be invited to a day of aviation engineering discovery. The day will include talks from mechanical and aeronautical engineers, hands-on workshops and demonstrations from the Lufthansa Technic Apprentice Engineer programme, and all students get to try their skill at being a pilot of a flight simulator.
